Community

We are building a legacy that extends beyond financial wealth through commitment to our people, clients and communities.

Leadership Extends
Beyond the Boardroom

At First Avenue, we are guided by our core values, one of which is Community. We are pleased to further our commitment to community through our partnership with the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO). Through our $100,000 commitment, our Internship Program, and our Annual Fundraiser, we proudly support POGO in:

  • Making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and youth with cancer, survivors, and their families and healthcare teams
  • Helping to create equitable access to the best care, and contribute to Canada’s respected pediatric cancer network

Internship Program

Internship Program

At First Avenue, we do things differently. Making a donation to check a box is not our style. Creating change and driving impact means getting involved.

Children with life-threatening illnesses are often pulled out of school and fall behind their classmates socially and academically. Our Internship Program hires a resilient youth who has survived cancer and benefitted from POGO support. This paid summer program aims to provide invaluable work experience, to instill confidence, and to bridge the educational gap caused by illness. Interns receive one-on-one mentorship, gain office experience and business skills, get to work on a value-added project in an area of interest, and receive the opportunity to present their project to leaders at the end of their internship.

Fundraising Event

Annual Fundraiser

At First Avenue, we believe that success is better when shared. Raising funds for POGO’s many transformative initiatives amplifies impact and winning as a community.

Money raised through our annual fundraising event in support of POGO will provide financial assistance to families experiencing childhood cancer, support survivors with customized school and work counselling, and fund promising research that examines the impact of childhood cancer and its treatment.

Stay tuned for more details on our event coming Fall 2024.
